Young people are facing so much anxiety, uncertainly and worry this year following the repercussions of the extended lockdowns.  This on top of the usual challenges and anxieties that teens face during their school years means that mental health needs to be at the top of the agenda.

As a mindset and mindfulness coach, I work with young people to teach them to recognise any triggers and to provide them with a toolkit of strategies and practical ways to manage their own feelings, anxieties or limiting beliefs.  I have been a secondary teacher for 16 years, working as a pastoral lead for 7 years and so I know the importance of additional support for pupils, especially those 'in the middle' who quietly get on with school, but may be holding onto anxiety and limiting beliefs.

Meet Louisa – Founder of MINDFUL SPARKS

Louisa, 41 from Warrington is a Mindset and Empowerment coach working with schools, businesses and individuals to support and promote the significance of mindset and metal well-being.

Louisa has had a very successful 16-year career in teaching.  Prior to training she worked in the Travel Industry both in the UK and overseas as a Sales Team Leader and Bespoke Travel company manager. In these roles, leadership, coaching and nurturing her staff was paramount.

With this vast experience and sheer determination, Louisa was promoted to Head of House in her second year of teaching and worked in this and subsequent pastoral roles for 5 years.  Louisa, moved on to a Head of English post but pastoral care has always been her 'go-to' in teaching and the drive behind setting up Mindful Sparks. After having her daughter, Louisa stepped down from HOD but soon crept back up the ladder taking TLRs for Intervention and Whole School Literacy.  Louisa has vast experince of working whole school both with staff and pupils. In the role of Literacy co-ordinator, she worked closely with small groups for intervention with pupils making significant progress.

Louisa left teaching in April 2021 to drive forward Mindful Sparks and Mamas Ignited, which is a successful online coaching business for women. (www.mamasignited.co.uk)

Louisa was driven to this change after experiencing a breakdown and during her post-traumatic growth deciding that she wanted to do more to help other women like her and in turn children that like her own daughter may be subjected to the ACES.

Louisa has overcome many adversities including: narcissistic relationships, domestic abuse and lived with with chronic pain which led to depression and major back surgery. In the last two years, due to a violent assault at the hands of her ex-partner, she is healing from PTSD and experienced burnout and a breakdown, before finding and creating a new path in life, helping others and helping herself and her 6-year-old daughter too.  

Louisa is now on a mission to encourage all schools to encourage children to believe in themselves, to ignite their spark and to understand how their brains work to protect them but in turn how this can bring on limiting beliefs, low self-esteem, self-sabotage and in turn anxiety and depression.  Prevention rather than cure! Her SPARKS system has been designed for schools to fit within the PSHE curriculum and as a part of the significant recovery that is now needed in this post-lockdown world.

Louisa is also a speaker and is speaking at Clear Path 2021 to prevent domestic abuse and is Number 1 best-selling author with her debut collaboration in 'Pride' and has  recently  published her first book ‘Time to Ignite - the 5-Step mindfulness system.’ Her second book ‘Ignite your Impact’ will be released in early 2022.  

The SPARKS system

The full course will be delivered over 6 sessions. The 6 weeks called Ignite your Spark will be all of the inner mindset work that helps to children to build their self-esteem and confidence.


Students will join 6 group sessions led by Louisa following her S.P.A.R.K.S system which includes a combination of practical sessions, discussion and individual reflection.  Each session includes a work booklet and practical exercises from the Time to Ignite Mindfulness classes


This important mindset work will help students to reframe limiting beliefs and to create positive thinking along with strategies to overcome negative mindset, fears and anxiety.

Delivery Options

The 6-week SPARKS programme will be led by Louisa in classes or small groups.  Sessions would be differentiated and tailored to the specific needs to the group.  Taking place over 6 weeks, students would build up a toolkit or understanding and practical tools to implement.


Whole Year Assemblies can be offered as a stand alone Masterclass with an overview of the SPARKS system.


Or you can choose to have the assembly and then this can also be followed up with sessions in PSHE to be led by the teacher with resources provided. 6 Weeks of Lesson Plans and Resources would be provided with Video explanations built into the Powerpoints along with planned activities.


Alternatively the full 6-week pre-recorded content could be used at any point throughout the year in PSHE and re-used in subsequent years as you would have full access to the content.

By the end of the course pupils will have a deeper connection to themselves and a bank of tools that they can use to manage their own wellbeing, anxiety or other negative feelings.  

They will be equipped with strategies to build confidence, change their mindset and overall have a better understanding of how their brains work and how they can reframe and re-programme negative talk and beliefs.

The mindfulness sessions will give them, practical ways to calm their nervous system to use in stressful situations like exams etc.

Assemblies only: 1/2 day £250

Full day: £375

Class/group 6 x sessions: £450
